These bunkbeds where easy to assemble. They are good to use as separate beds also. They are pretty sturdy and good beds for the money.Overall this bed is good for small kids, or people less than 150lbs. Please tell your kiddies not to jump on this bed or do anything other than sleep or sit. Otherwise the bed will bend and/or the slats will fall off or bend too.The assembly was tedious especially when it came to attaching the slats. Everything was labeled so it made it somewhat easier to find the items, but you have to pay careful attention to the directions and look at the pictures in the directions as everything looks the same and the labels (which are labeled alphabetically) on the items can be hard to find.I wouldn't buy again since its not sturdy and I hated attaching the slats - I thought they were already attached by the way it was pictured, but you have to manually place each bar which I hated. I would have rather just brought a box spring LOL.They are squeaky but does the job and a lot to put together.Okay, so some people said it took 3 hours etc etc to put together... So here's my suggestion.... The pieces all come in on rather long but small box. (You'll see what I mean when it comes) put all of the pieces in alphabetical order (this should be common sense) and you can put it together by yourself HOWEVER I would recommend a partner. It took my partner and I about 45 mins. It's pretty darn sturdy, but my top bunker (11 year old daughter) did say the ladder hurts her feet.Also, I don't know who said the side rails dont come off the top bunk, but they are removable.Perfect for what we wanted. The reason for 4 stars was one of the foot board rails is slightly dented and bent. Would have called the seller to correct, but we had to put it together so we would be ready for what we bought it for. Functionally it worked and just I cosmetic.I am very pleased with the convertible bunk bed. I purchased it due to it can convert to a twin bed. There was a delay in the delivery. However, I was informed every step of the way which is important to me. I love the color and how it looks in my son's bedroom. I can't say if it was difficult to assemble. When I got home it was together. Might I add the price was reasonable compared to other online stores. I am completely satisfied. Only took both of us though to get them on top of each other which I understand unless you’re a macho man and have something to prove would be the smart way to go. My kids love them and they are a little terrors so if they can with stand my kids they are pretty darn good product.If you need a set of bunk beds and you search for them online, you will see countless numbers of possibilities and potentials. But, after almost all is said, this unit is one of the best options available. Put together, by myself, and I might add, in record time and without damage to me, my surroundings or the public at large. Highly recommended.
