TLDR; Great quality for the price, GREAT seller, use a drill (TRUST ME), keep some sandpaper on hand, and have help. If you have an issue use the message seller function on Amazon, they're extremely responsive.I ordered this to give my kids extra room to play in their shared bedroom. We turned the top into a play fort, complete with futon mattress and twinkle lights. They are obsessed.Delivery was fast, FedEx delivered it to my door which was a bonus because we live in an apt building. Props to my local delivery guy for going that extra mile for me.These boxes are HEAVY. I'm a 5'6" 35 yr old woman that regularly lifts 100lbs plus. I'm not by any means weak. Yes, I could move the boxes on my own. I would not recommend it at all. As soon as I had help, I asked for it. My husband struggled more than I did and he's 6'6" and played football in HS. Just to give you an idea.Unboxing was fine EXCEPT you have literally no idea where the instructions are. They're in a box. That's all you'll know. The hardware is all packaged with the instructions so at least that was handy. If I remember correctly the long box that is super heavy has the hardware and manual. So hopefully I'm right and this helps you.Assembly SHOULD be easy. Instructions are clear. Most items line up just fine. As well as one could expect if you've done a lot of these DIY furniture projects anyway. But the big bolts that hold the major support pieces together had me literally in tears. I have never, EVER had difficulty like this putting something together. My hands were absolutely raw and torn from using the provided allen wrench to screw down the bolts. Take my advice. Use a drill. I had to drill down onto the pre-drilled holes to make more room. I had a square bit that fit the bolts perfectly and I still had to throw all my weight into it. The non-major bolts were all a piece of cake. Ladder? No sweat. Roof? Easy. Mattress supports? Normal drilling. But those supports almost killed me.Our major issue was the final box that contained the roofing pieces. It was smashed. FedEx did its best to destroy it. Everything was broken except for a few pieces. Emailed the seller through Amazon, had a response within 12 hours, and had new product shipped within 36 hours of my original email. It would have been faster if I had stayed on top of my email, the seller was EXTREMELY responsive. I attached pictures of everything and advised to the condition as of receipt from FedEx. Be proactive in your contact and there won't be a lot of back and forth. They gave no push back and were extremely pleasant. The new box arrived in perfect condition. All pieces were stable. No issues at all. I was able to complete the roof on my own.The one thing I am going to do to increase stability; I'm getting more 1x2 boards to go across the bottom bunk frame for support. I'm not comfortable with the amount of boards they supplied. It works, but my kids are very big for their age and very rough. I'm sure for 90% of people this will be just fine. It's worth the small extra investment for us.I will echo concerns about the mattress support beams for the top bunk. They are fairly rough cut and I was nervous about splinters. Definitely not smooth. Maybe keep some medium grit sandpaper on hand for some of the rougher spots. Not a deal breaker.Overall, quality is quite good. I'm very pleased for the price. I would recommend this item with the few tweaks I listed, such as using a drill. I'm happy with it, my kids love it, and now they hang out in their room to play much more often.Bought it for my Granddaughter who was tired of always having to sleep with the Puppies. LolWhat you need:+ screwdriver (Philips)A second Allen key (they provide one)Preferably:A drillA ratchet for an Allen keyA comfortable handle for the Allen keyIt took 1 man 4 hours with a helper once during assembly. We bought the full over full version of this bunk bed for our 4 and 6 year old boys. They’d been having a hard time staying asleep in their own room and basically were still co-sleeping. Wanting privacy and good night’s rest for ourselves led us to the bunk bed solution. And guess what!?! It actually worked! Those two have slept in that bunk bed every single night since we put it together and have not bothered us since. It honestly feels like a miracle and we’re so well rested now. ?. Aside from being ecstatic that the kids finally sleep in their own beds, this bunk bed house is pretty amazing. It looks high end, is very sturdy, and wasn’t too difficult to assemble. We did modify it a little bit by placing some thin plywood over the top bunk wood planks that hold the mattress. This is because we used a 7 inch foam mattress for the top so that the mattress wouldn’t be taller than the side wall/railing. I was worried the foam mattress wouldn’t be as sturdy on the planks alone. I do have to say I am a little worried about my kids on the top bunk because they still move around a lot while sleeping. We may add a bar or two for safety at one end of the bed as a precaution, but I’m not sure that’s necessary. I definitely recommend this bunk bed for those who want to bribe their kids to sleep in their own beds. This is a beautiful bed!UNFORTUNATELY the over $200 I paid for delivery dis not ensure anything arriving in one piece. The square box that held all the “house” (roof and side) pieces were crushed and almost every piece inside was shattered. My husband had to piece it all together and glue and attach other pieces of wood to even make one side of the roof.I didn't realize when I switched the mattress size it switched the design as well. I really wanted the "L" shape not the "I". However it was my mistake for not double checking everything. That being said it's a great bed, perhaps I eventually save and upgrade. There are a few ares improvement1. Who puts the instructions & hardware in the middle box box (2 out of 3)? It already takes almost entire room to unbox.2. Why are almost all the whiles pre screwed except the middle support? Then the measurements are metric (I get it the rest of the world is) but it's not even labeled what they are using3. Can't tell one piece from next inside of illustration4. Stop using cams as anchors. OMG I hate these. You Gotta use one hand to wiggle cam the other to turn screw all while trying to hold the beam...all you had to do is use anchors like you did on the other half.Assembly was easyPaint is thin in places but kind of adds to character. Well built for the moneyEach piece was well builtMy boys love this bunk bed, and they even gave helping hands to my husband. From observing the process, it looked simple enough for my husband to put together, though he needed occasional help to hold two pieces together. My only complaint is that the wood pieces to support the mattress were not finished/painted wood, arriving with significant black mold. I don’t have photos because my husband had sprayed with a bleach cleaner before telling me. We did find a simple solution to hopefully prevent the mold from returning with vengeance. (After dried, my husband painted each piece.)
